The Ramble is your opportunity to hike the trail from end to end and not have to arrange a ride back. You willl start from the Shippensburg Township Park and hike to the trailhead in Newville. Transportation will be provided from Newville back to the park in time for you to get lunch and enjoy the live music. The only requirement is that you give yourself enough time to get to Newville before the bus bringing the 15k racers to the start is ready to leave at 1 PM. A water stop will be available in Oakville.Ribbon CuttingCVRTC will be holding a ribbon cutting ceremony to officailly open the new bridge and trail extension into downtown Shippensburg at 12:30 pm. After the ribbon cutting the 1 Mile Fun Run will start at the bridge at run on the new trail. Join in this free event and try out the new trail. You are welcome to continue on the the end of the extension and turn the 1 mile into a two mile tour.

15 Kilometer point to point rail trail course.
The course starts at the Shippesnburg Township Park trail head of the Cumberland Valley Rail-Trail and finishes at the Newville trail head. The Rail-Trail has a smooth, crushed stone surface that runs thru beautiful farmland.

Guaranteed shirt deadline April 10Everyone registered by April 10 for all events except the 1 mile will receive either cotton t-shirt or a tech shirt upgrade. Shirts will be availabe for purchase for the 1 mile. After April 10 tech shirts will not be available to order. Extra cotton t-shirts will be available and will be given out first come first served until they are gone.

Online registration is open and will close on Saturday April 22 at 8:00 PM.
Race day registration and bib pickup will begin at 9:00 AM at the Shippensburg Township Park, 304 Britton Rd., Shippensburg, PA. Registration closes 15 minutes before the event starts, please be considerate of others and register on time.Ramblers may begin as soon as they register. You must allow enough time to reach Newville by 1 PM in order to receive return transportation to the Shippensburg Township Park.
Water will be available in Oakville (5.3 miles) and in Newville.
There are three set of restrooms available in the Shippensburg Township Park. One set by registration, one in the big pavilion, and one by the baseball fields. Restrooms are also available in Oakville (1/4 mile off of the trail at the North Newton Township Park) and at the end of the ramble in Newville.

From the north use I-81 exit 29, turn right onto Walnut Bottom Rd. Left onto King Street (US 11). Turn right onto North Queen Street at Sheetz then right onto Britton Road; approximately 1/2 mile to the park.
From the south use I-81 exit 24, turn left onto Olde Scotland Rd. Left onto Fayette Street. Right onto King Street (US 11). Turn left onto North Queen Street at Sheetz then right onto Britton Road; approximately 1/2 mile to the park.

CVRTC is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable corporation dedicated to conservation, historic preservation, recreation and alternative transportation in the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania through the development of multi-use trails along former railroad corridors and other areas. CVRTC owns and maintains the Cumberland Valley Rail Trail that runs 13 miles from Shippensburg to noth west of Newville and is working on extending the trail to Carlisle and south of Shippensburg.
